Senate Democrats subpoena Harlan Crow, Leonard Leo for funding justices’ personal journey



Senate Democrats stated Monday they plan to subpoena Republican megadonor Harlan Crow and conservative activist Leonard Leo for extra details about their roles in organizing and paying for luxurious journey for Supreme Courtroom justices.

The announcement by Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee comes because the courtroom is being pressed to undertake an ethics code, a transfer that has been publicly endorsed by three of the 9 justices.

In July, the Judiciary panel permitted laws that might drive the justices to abide by stronger ethics requirements.
